This Privacy Policy explains how 154i, LLC (“we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, and protects personal information through the Spencer Iowa App (“the App”). Our goal is to protect your privacy while keeping you connected with your city.

We collect only the data necessary to provide and improve app functionality:

Voluntarily Submitted Data: When reporting a problem, you may provide your name, email, phone number, address, and a description.

Device Information: We may collect anonymized device data (e.g., device type, OS version) to troubleshoot and improve performance.

Location Data: If you grant permission, we use your location to support features like local alerts or reports.

Push Notification Token: We store your device’s anonymous token to send alerts, but it is not tied to your personal identity.

We use the collected information to:

• Send emergency alerts and general city notifications.
• Allow submission of reports to city staff (e.g., streetlight issues).
• Improve the app’s performance and features.

We do not sell your personal information. We only share data when:

• Needed by the City of Spencer to address user-submitted reports.
• Required by trusted third-party services (e.g., Firebase) under confidentiality agreements.
• Required by law or legal process.

You may use the app without submitting personal information.
You can disable location access or notifications at any time in your device settings.
You may request deletion of data you’ve submitted, where permissible.

We retain submitted data only as long as necessary for its intended purpose. City report data may be retained for city records but can be deleted on request unless required by law.

We take reasonable security measures (including encryption and access controls) to protect your information. However, no internet-based service is 100% secure.

The Spencer Iowa App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted data, please contact us immediately.

This Privacy Policy may be updated occasionally. We’ll change the effective date above and notify users if changes are significant.
